Volda University College (VUC) was originally founded over 150 years ago, as the first teacher training college in rural Norway. VUC is located on the West coast of Norway, in the town of Volda. With its 4,500 students and 350 staff / faculty members, VUC is the largest institution of higher education between Bergen and Trondheim. The University College has four faculties: media and journalism, humanities and education, social science and history, as well as arts and physical education. It offers one PhD program (joint degree with Molde University College), eight Master’s programs, more than 30 Bachelor’s programs, and about 450 courses / modules. The studies offered are varied and include among others: media and communication, general and pre-school education, social sciences, social work, public planning and administration, as well as literature, linguistics, math and science, history, arts and crafts, outdoor life and physical education, music, and drama and theater. Volda University College is known across Norway especially for its study programs in the fields of media & journalism and teacher training. VUC collaborates with over 140 universities and research institutions worldwide, through student exchange, research cooperation, staff exchange and more.

STEP Institute is an innovative private non-profit organization that is dealing with people development. STEP is based in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The heart of the organization represents a core team of interdisciplinary experts, who work along with different external trainers and experts. STEP’s members are educated in the fields of psychology, economy and sociology, so they can address complex challenges through integrated approach. With project activities and trainings STEP’s team help to bridge the differences between education and work, business and public sector, scientific approach and practical experience, start – ups and big organizations.
Mission of STEP Institute is to empower people for better functioning in work environment through innovative methods. It helps people to discover and nurture their talents, develop professional and soft skills (communication, emotional intelligence, stress management, growth mindset, mentoring, coaching etc.) and realize entrepreneurial ideas into marketable solutions. On the other side it helps organizations to realize their potential by engaging its employees, developing new skills with train – the – trainer approach and enabling effective collaboration through team coaching sessions.
- Professional development. Primary focus is development of basic competencies and social skills (like emotional intelligence, teamwork) for schools, organizations and private companies. Workshops, trainings, e-learning, individual coaching and peer coaching are the most common methods.
- Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Cooperation in designing entrepreneurship’s trainings, workshops and curriculums. Interactive approach includes tools like design thinking, business modelling, lean start-up and rapid prototyping.
- Social inclusion. In this area institute deals with challenges of unemployed people and young people who are about to enter labour market. It aims to increase their employability with combination of trainings, individual/team support and mentoring.
- Personnel and work psychology. In this broad area focus is on the selection process, assessments of learning and training needs, evaluation of acquired competencies and career guidance methods.
- Quantitative and qualitative research. Academic background and experience in marketing research is useful when designing evaluation of specific project activities and results. Another STEP’s strong point is qualitative research, especially focus groups and in-depth interviews.

UNIGE
The University of Genova is one of the most ancient among the European large universities. It was founded in 1933, but its history can be traced back several centuries (14th century).
UNIGE is a public institution provided with scientific, educational, organizational and financial autonomy and it is involved in the building of a European area for research and advanced professional training.

Thanks to the activities of the team of geographers, psychologists, sociologists, pedagogues, linguist, philosophers and anthropologists, the Department of Educational Sciences (DISFOR) promotes research and educational activities in the areas of education and training in a wide-ranging epistemological framework that is centred on the study of the individual and of society. DISFOR is engaged in many European scientific programmes in different fields. The staff has been cooperating with other European and extra-European countries in order to promote the cultural exchange and develop knowledge and best practices for teaching.

Haaga-Helia School of Vocational Teacher Training (HHSVTE) is a unit at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (HH). Haaga-Helia is part of the Finnish public educational system with approximately 10 500 students and 700 employees. It is privately run, but steered and co-funded by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture. HH’s fields of education are business, hotel, restaurant and tourism management, information technology, journalism, management assistant training, sports management and vocational teacher education.
Haaga-Helia’s research, development and innovation (RDI) activities are built around its fields of education and divided into three categories; vocational learning, ICT (information communication technologies) and new business solutions. Haaga-Helia aims at working close to the world of work and our research is applied to its character.

The University of Primorska Universita’ del Litorale (UP) was established in 2003 as a third national university in Slovenia. Its objectives are to generate and to transmit new knowledge based on research and innovations, and to contribute to the sustainable development of local and wider Central European, South-Eastern European and Mediterranean area.
The proposed action will be implemented by the Faculty of Management (FM). FM, established in 1995, is a public higher education institution for education and research in the field of social sciences, with special focus on economics, finance and business management. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes. Study programmes are internationally comparable and encourage student mobility and flexibility through programmes of international co-operation with different higher education institutions. At the moment the faculty enrols 488 undergraduate and 190 postgraduate students. FM is actively engaged in scientific and research activities in the field of economics, finance, law and management. In addition to education and research, the basic activities of the faculty also include providing consultancy to companies and other organisations, publishing of international scientific journals and books, and organisation of international conferences.
